Dot Drill — Five Separate Aims
intermediateFive separate aim points, one shot each. Tests your ability to re-establish NPA and zero on a new point of aim each time — not just refine one group.
Fire one shot at each dot, in sequence. Between shots, fully come off the rifle, reestablish your position, and acquire a fresh NPA on the next dot. Each shot is a fresh problem — do not rush.
Use a target with 5 clearly separated 1" aiming dots, spaced at least 2" apart (print an NRA Precision Pistol or custom dot target). Distance: 100 yards. Supported prone position.
For each shot, measure deviation from the dot center. Score = number of shots within ½" of dot center (out of 5). 5/5 = excellent; 4/5 = good; 3/5 = acceptable; below 3 = position and NPA work needed.
