Natural Point of Aim Check
beginnerVerify your body is truly aligned with the target — not forcing the rifle on aim with muscle. A wrong NPA means every shot has tension in it.
Close your eyes. Take three normal breaths. Open your eyes — where is your crosshair? If it has drifted, your body was not naturally aligned and you were using muscular tension to hold the aim. Reposition your entire body (pivot at the hips), not the rifle, until the crosshair stays on target after this eyes-closed test.
Get into your supported prone position. Aim at your target and confirm your crosshair is on the center. Load one round (or use dry fire).
Pass: crosshair is on or within ¼" of original aim point after the eyes-closed test. Fail: crosshair has drifted. Mark which direction: if it consistently drifts right, your NPA is right of the target — adjust body left. Repeat until you pass 3 consecutive checks.
