Carbine 4-MOA Practical Standard
intermediateField — standing/kneeling/braced, NOT benchedThe combat-effective carbine standard: 5 shots inside ~4 inches (4 MOA) at 100 yards from a real field position. Bench rest defeats the purpose.
Fire 5 rounds from your chosen field position with full attention to mount, sight, and trigger. Note which position you used.
NO bench, NO bipod-on-a-bench. Shoot from a practical field position: standing, kneeling, or braced on a barricade, sling optional. 100yd target, 5 rounds. This measures practical accuracy, not what the rifle can do off a bench.
Measure extreme spread. ≤4" (≈4 MOA) = pass the practical standard; ≤2" (≈2 MOA) is the carbine ceiling for most. Log it. (To earn the Carbine Path, log the group in the Logbook with a carbine-type firearm — drill results aren't attributed to a firearm.)
